Our activities in Lausanne

Rookie Slash in Lausanne

Rookie Slash has been present in Lausanne since 2025.

We offer skateboarding lessons as an activity that promotes inclusion, confidence, and social connection for young migrants and refugees. In close collaboration with local stakeholders, such as Lausanne Skateboard Club and Longboard Women United Switzerland, we develop regular activities and pilot projects designed for the long term, in a supportive environment.

Rookie Class – Weekly class to meet the community and progress at your own pace

The course Rookie Slash is aimed at young migrants and refugees in Lausanne aged between 12 and 20. It offers a structured, supportive and motivating environment in which to discover skateboarding, progress at your own pace and build self-confidence.

Organized in collaboration with the Lausanne Skateboard Club, this course was tested in 2025. This pilot phase enabled young participants to develop their skills, forge bonds, and integrate into a genuine community, supported by committed mentors and positive values of sharing and perseverance.

Women's Classes – A place to skate, meet up, and connect

In 2025, the weekly women's class at the Lausanne Skateboard Club has opened its doors to migrant and refugee women in Lausanne. This initiative aims to provide a safe and supportive space that promotes self-confidence, independence, and an introduction to skateboarding.

This project was born out of a collaboration between the Lausanne Skateboard Club and Rookie Slash, with the aim of making skateboarding more inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of background or skill level.
