On pourrait encore continuer, tant le quatrième anniversaire de Rookie Slash était représenté par de multiples cultures et origines. Malheureusement, le rédacteur de ce texte ne maîtrise que le français, le farsi, le tigrinya, l’espagnol et l’ukrainien.
Last May 7th, we celebrated four years of the Rookie Slash association! For once, the young people and coaches didn’t meet on skateboards, but were ready to devour a surprise cake specially designed for Rookie Slash. What joy to see young people who participated in the activities in the first year, as well as the new faces who recently joined the skate and climbing sessions.
Once everyone was settled, holding their glass of iced tea and engaged in lively discussions about skateboarding, the cake arrived! What a work of art with candles worthy of the 1st of August. It didn’t last long before we blew out the candles, wished each other happiness for the future, and started cutting the cake. Additionally, a panel featuring the coaches was created using archive images, highlighting the people who lead the classes and organize the activities.
Thanks to the Eaux-Vives neighborhood space for hosting us and to the young people without whom the Rookie adventure would be impossible. See you next year for the association’s 5th anniversary! We wish you even more skate, climbing, snowboarding, adventure, laughter, and friendship for the future.
